Payment Terms in Security: Should Operatives Wait?

Nathan Bell

Managing Director

One of the most frustrating realities in the private security sector is the standard 30-day (or longer) payment cycle after invoicing clients. It’s common for operatives to find themselves chasing wages weeks after a job, through no fault of their own.

At NSB-Global Enterprise Ltd, we do things differently.

We Don’t Make Operatives Wait

We pay our operatives first before we receive a single penny from the client.

Why?

Because the operative on the ground isn’t the one in contract with the council, event organiser, or private client we are.

So why should you have to wait 30+ days for money you've already earned?

We believe security professionals should be paid promptly, especially when they’ve shown up, delivered, and done the job right. It’s a matter of fairness, and it’s one of our core values.

Fast Pay vs. High Pay: What Would You Choose?

So here’s a straight question for operatives across the UK:

Would you take:

  • £300 per day, paid 30+ days after invoice OR

  • £275 per day, paid within 7 days, guaranteed?

What matters more to you speed of pay, or higher take-home?

Tell Us What You Think

At NSB, we’re reviewing our internal approach and want feedback directly from those who matter most the operatives doing the job.

Would a quicker payment model, even at slightly lower rates, work better for your cash flow and peace of mind?
